Understanding Orthopedic Treatments

Hey everyone, my name is Belinda. When I was a young girl, I injured the muscles in my legs performing complex gymnastic moves. I was under the care of an orthopedist for several months during the recovery period. I had to complete a number of strengthening exercises to regain my range of motion and mobility. The orthopedist performed regular examinations to determine if the given treatment was working. I will use this site to talk about different orthopedic treatments. I hope you will visit my site often to learn about this fascinating subject.

Why You Should Encourage Your Personal Injury Clients to Seek Independent Medical Evaluations

by Stanley Pierce

Since you are probably familiar with working with clients who have recently been injured in car accidents or other types of incidents, then you probably aren't a stranger to talking to your clients about their doctors' appointments. However, you might not be used to recommending that your patients see a certain doctor for an independent medical evaluation.

Basically, an independent medical evaluation is performed by an outside doctor that your client has never seen before and presumably does not know. You might not really think it matters which doctors your clients see, but you may want to encourage many of your personal injury clients to seek these medical evaluations for these reasons and more.

Encourage Your Clients to Get the Best Possible Care

Of course, you probably get to know your personal injury clients, and you probably want to do what you can to help them during this difficult time period in their lives. For one thing, you probably want to make sure that your clients get the best possible medical care so that they can heal up from their accident-related injuries as well and as quickly as possible.

By encouraging your clients to get a second opinion by going for an independent medical examination, then you can encourage them to get answers about their injuries. Doing this—along with doing everything that you can to help fight to cover your client's medical bills and other medical expenses—can help you do everything in your power to ensure that your clients get the care that they need.

Help Avoid Denied Claims

As a personal injury attorney, you have probably dealt with plenty of cases where the insurance company flat-out refused and denied claims. This might be one of your first and main concerns when helping a client with a case. If you encourage your client to get an independent medical examination done, then you can help prevent a claim denial from happening in the first place.

Help Clients Get Bigger Settlements

Not only can you help ensure that your clients' claims are not outright denied by the insurance companies that you are working with on their behalf, but you can help them in order ways by encouraging them to seek independent medical evaluations. For example, you might be able to help them get a bigger settlement. This can be important if your client needs a more sizable settlement to cover their medical bills, lost wages, and other expenses from their accident.
